Hyaluronic acid

Despite the name, hyaluronic acid does not exfoliate. It is a humectant that draws water into the skin, helping it look plumper and feel more comfortable. It suits every skin type, including oily skin, and layers easily under other products. Apply to slightly damp skin and follow with a moisturiser to seal in hydration.

AboutHyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in skin, where it helps hold on to water. In skincare it acts as a humectant, drawing moisture into the surface layers so skin looks plumper and fine lines caused by dehydration look softer. Despite the name, it doesn't exfoliate.

Many formulas combine different molecular sizes: larger ones hydrate at the surface, smaller ones are designed to reach a little deeper.

How to use it

  • Apply to slightly damp skin after cleansing or toning.
  • Follow with moisturiser to seal the hydration in, especially in dry or heated rooms.
  • Use morning, evening or both. It pairs well with almost everything, including vitamin C, vitamin A and acids.
